Course Overview

Position your team to realize their full potential with these foundational approaches for successful college admissions counseling. Perfect for new counselors, this training module explores key concepts like institutional goals, mission & vision, and a counselor’s role in attaining these. It teaches practical skills and techniques to meet and exceed their enrollment objectives.


  • Participants will understand the foundational approaches to successful admissions counseling, including:
    – image & positioning of your institution
    – relationship building
    – best practices in campus visits
  • Counselors will know and understand the institutional goals, as well as their role in meeting those goals.
  • Counselors will develop an understanding of strategic communication and how to construct a comprehensive contact strategy.


Our training modules are designed to be half-day learning opportunities, delivered onsite or remote. Customized training workshops can also be provided.

Curriculum Design Elements – With live instruction through a series of customized modules, our instructors embrace a comprehension, reflection, application learning model. This model allows information and strategies to be shared (comprehension), adequate time for participants to evaluate where that information can best be applied to maximize impact in their own work (reflection), and encouragement to practice new skills in a safe and controlled environment (application).
